Epilogue

 

 

 

Buffy and Angel spent the rest of the night moving from room to room and making love. They talked about their pasts and what their mutual hopes for the future were.  After a vigorous romp in the kitchen, Buffy fell asleep draped across her lover on the kitchen floor. Angel carried her up to their room where they slept peacefully entwined around each other.

 

The next day when Giles and Kathy came home, Spike and Riley also came over and they celebrated their good fortunes together as a family.  That night they all went to the airport to see Riley off.

 

Buffy had been very sad to see her only living brother go and late that night.  Encased in the warmth of their bedroom, Angel consoled her the best way he could, by showing her how much he loved and appreciated her. He worshipped her body with everything that he had inside of him for a long, long time.  He only stopped when there was a timid rap on their door. When he answered it, Kathy was standing there thumb in her mouth and tears running down her face.  When he picked her up and asked her what was wrong, she said she thought the monsters had gotten them because of the loud shouts of pain she heard from Buffy.

 

Buffy was completely red faced with embarrassment but Angel just chuckled at both of them.  He laid Kathy in the bed between him and Buffy, and together they watched as she fell asleep.

 

After Riley left, things moved rather quickly for everyone.  A few weeks later Buffy graduated from high school and then Giles returned home to England, with promises from Angel and Buffy that they would visit him soon.

 

That summer Angel, Buffy, Kathy and Spike all flew to England where they stayed for a month.  During that time Buffy finally made some decisions as to what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, besides being Angel’s love slave.

 

She decided that she wanted to go to college.  To Angel’s, and Kathy’s, relief, she decided to attend UCS where she planned to study Child Psychology.  It was perfect for her; they had an excellent psychology program plus Willow and Xander were also attending UCS so she could still see her friends. Willow planned on studying Forensic Science and Xander was majoring in business.

 

Xander did eventually come around in his feelings toward Angel. And Buffy had the sneaking suspicion that they made some sort of pact. It was only after some guy tried to pick her up in the school bookstore as she was buying the textbooks for her classes that she realized it, because later that day she saw Xander talking to the same guy. As she snuck up to see what they were arguing about, she heard him say that she was unavailable and that he was watching out for her…all the time for his close personal friend that just so happened to be rich and powerful and Buffy’s boyfriend.

 

Later that night when she confronted Angel about it, he fessed up.  He’d told Xander if he looked after her at school that he could come over to swim in the pool and eat as much as he wanted to, anytime he wanted to without calling first. For over an hour they yelled and screamed at each other, Buffy accusing him of being too jealous and Angel simply stating that he watched over what was his and that no college chump was going to try to get a piece of his woman.

 

That argument ended up with Buffy flat on her back on the desk legs spread wide as Angel ruthlessly showed her the extent of his possession. She couldn’t walk straight the next day so she scowled at him every chance she got only to be smirked at smugly.

 

Four years later they all graduated with honors from UCS.  Willow and Xander both moved to LA where Willow got a job working for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office and Xander opened a consulting firm.

 

Buffy decided that she wanted to go for her master’s degree so she enrolled at UCLA and attended graduate school. It was a rough two years for everyone. During the week she stayed with Willow in LA, then every weekend shedrove home to Sunnydale to be with her family to spend every waking hour with Kathy and Angel.  Those weekend nights were some of the hottest and most erotic she ever experienced, as she and Angel expressed how much they missed each other during the week to each other.  They went to bed at nine o’clock right after Kathy did and didn’t come out till the next morning.

 

On Sunday night she returned to LA sad and lonely and missing her family.  Spike oftentimes came and visited her during the week, and there were also the occasional surprise visits from Angel who said he couldn’t stay away from her anymore. On those nights poor Willow got no sleep as she was kept wide awake by the loud and boisterous noises the lovers made.

 

It was at UCLA that Buffy met and befriended Faith Morrison.  She was a student in one of her classes and they quickly became friends.  Buffy immediately liked Faith and she knew that she was perfect for someone who was close to Buffy’s heart.  So Buffy kept the vow that she had made to herself, and on one weekend she brought Faith home with her.

 

The second that Spike and Faith saw each other it was like an electric current that passed back and forth between the two of them. Angel took great pleasure in teasing Spike about it, since Spike had teased Angel about his own electrical connection to Buffy.  It wasn’t long after that they began dating and they were now like peanut butter and jelly, neither one rarely without the other one.

 

Promises were kept and when Buffy received her master’s degree two years later, she and Angel got married at the mansion.  It was a small affair with only their close friends and family.  Even Riley flew back for the occasion, bringing along his new wife Sam, who was also in the army and stationed with him in Argentina.

 

When they returned home from their honeymoon two weeks later, Buffy and Faith opened The Offices of Summers and Morrison.  Together they worked to help as many children as they possibly could to have a better life.  They started an after school outreach program for kids that had nowhere to go; they offered them extra help with their studies, counseling for the more troubled kids, and they had a martial arts and boxing program, along with gymnastics and dance. Angel and Spike volunteered two nights a week, teaching the kids martial arts and boxing.  Each one enjoying the time they spent with the kids.

 

Two years later when Buffy turned twenty-six, she was gifted with the second best birthday she ever had when she discovered that she was pregnant.

 

Everyone was ecstatic, especially Angel and Kathy.  Connor Scott Flannagan was born eight months later and Angel had been the epitome of fatherly pride as he looked on as Buffy breast-feed him for the first time.  He had tears of joy in his eyes as he watched. Kathy now the ripe old age of twelve, made the comment that it looked painful. Buffy shared a knowing laugh with Angel. Then Buffy commented that it wasn’t and one day she would find out for herself, which immediately shut Angel up and put the darkest scowl Buffy had ever seen on his handsome face.

 

Little Kathy, who under the loving guidance of Angel and Buffy, grew up to be a healthy responsible young woman. She was a straight A honor student and when she wasn’t in school, she stayed at home with Buffy helping her look after Connor who was as much of a terror as Buffy or Kathy had ever been.

 

When Kathy turned sixteen Buffy practically had to kick her out of the house to go to a party one of her friends was throwing. Angel had flipped out and said she was too young to be going to parties. When Buffy said that she was younger than that when she first went out, Angel had stupidly said, that’s my point!  She had then kicked him out of the bedroom that night and spent the night alone miserable in her bedroom while Angel did nothing but curse himself a fool in the library.

 

The next day he made it up to her with a weekend trip to Malibu for just the two of them and Buffy forgave him. It was hard not to considering what an exceptionally well-accomplished kiss ass Angel was, which also resulted in baby number two and the arrival of little Joyce Owena Flannagan nine months later.

 

When Kathy was seventeen, Buffy hired a babysitter to watch Connor and Joyce who were little terrors so Kathy would have no excuse not to go and hang out with her friends. Unfortunately for Buffy it was Angel that opened the door when the new babysitter arrived and what he saw made him scowl.

 

It was Timmy, a young sturdy good-looking boy who was being ogled at by Kathy who stood behind Angel.  After Kathy told him that Timmy was the new babysitter, Angel had immediately rushed to find Buffy where they proceeded to argue for weeks on end about it.  Saying that it wasn’t right, and that he wasn’t blind and could easily see the attraction between Kathy and Timmy, he argued that young lust only lead to bad things.

 

Buffy had slinked up to him with a smile on her face to rival the Cheshire Cat and wrapped her arms around his neck and quickly reminded him that if it weren’t for her own young lust they never would have found each other. Angel could do nothing but agree with her as she showed him how much her young lust still thrived for him.

 

Afterwards as they lay in their afterglow they whispered words of love and devotion, passion and lust, family and forever, and of the forbidden fruit of young lust.
